Meet the PresentFuture team

  • Curator & founder

    Kurt Vanbelleghem is a curator, critic and publisher specialized in the field of contemporary artistic practices. He received a MA in Psychological Sciences and a MA in Art History from the University of Ghent, Belgium and a Master in Visual Arts Administration from The Royal College of Art, London, UK.

    He is specialized in the public relevance of an artistic practice. He focuses on the development of new curatorial and publication strategies within ongoing societal & technological evolutions and always in relationship to the responsibility taken by artists & designers. He is an excellent networker and communicator who is dedicated to develop the long-term engagements with artistic innovators.

    As an art education specialist, he has been head of the curatorial program and of the MA curriculum at Sint Lucas Antwerp. He developed workshops, projects and educational partnerships for several higher art education institutions worldwide, including Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam (NL), Aalto University (FI), Ringling College of Art & Design (USA) and Lasalle College of Art & Design (SG);

    He has been a contributing editor to a number of art & design magazines and has published several monographs, catalogues and artist’s books.

  • Lu Li is a passionate and energetic practitioner in the culture and art industry with a law and anthropology academic background.

    She specializes in business development and brand communication. As the Cultural Product Director and Brand Director, she successfully operated the cultural landmark bookstores of China JIC Group in Beijing and Shanghai. With strong leadership and creativity, she built up Cultural Consulting Business and the cultural consultant team.

    She focuses on cross-cultural communication and trans-regional business development. In China, she reformed the bookstore into a public think tank platform, bringing together more than 30 institutions and 100 outstanding scholars, artists, writers, government officials, and entrepreneurs. Besides, she cooperated with more than 6 national consulates and planned Belgium Cultural Festival, Norway Cultural Festival, the Antique European violin Exhibition, etc.

    She has worked in top PR agencies Edelman and Ogilvy, servicing multinational enterprises such as GE, Swire, Astrazeneca, Olympus, and Zeiss.

    From policy to cultural differences, her rich interdisciplinary knowledge and practical skill could help artists effectively find the keys to unlocking new markets.

  • Business and Communication

    Inge Van Ermengem is an administrative and communication specialist. She studied Communication & Public Relations at the Erasmus University College of Brussels and Digital Content & Journalism at the Artevelde University College in Ghent, Belgium.

    As an administrative consultant she has been developing optimization and support strategies in a variety of professional contexts for over the past 25 years. In this way, she is capable of inserting knowledge and skills which are not commonly applied within professional artistic contexts.

    Her main focus within the field of communication is the development of digital identity and storytelling. She has realized several communication projects for artistic practitioners and institutions.

    Inge Van Ermengem is, depending on the needs, the plug & play communication consultant, administrative workhorse or freelance sparring partner.

    Her goal is to unburden artists and designers from their administrative workload, so that they can focus on what matters most to them, their artistic development. In such, she is able to realize substantial added value to any artistic practice.
